Tin can silos are another staple of the recycled terrain collection.
I have been using them as they come for years but watching YouTube has shown there are so many better ways to make them look
The first thing they tell me to do is mask the tin canny-ness of the tin can. Real silos don't look like that. I used some brown paper/card that had been holing some wrapping paper in a roll. This worked a treat as it was thick enough to mask the ridges but thin enough to be easy to work with.
I then added details in the form of bands and smaller pipework. I even added little bits of round sprue to the tops to look like valves.
I really liked how this was going so I created a second one
